Trekdrop is back — and it’s now called Strekdrop
Do you remember that delicious trekdrop from back in the day? That soft, stretchy liquorice you’d happily pull apart between your fingers, piece by piece... Good news: it’s back! Only it’s no longer called “trekdrop”, but Strekdrop.
What is Strekdrop?
Strekdrop is exactly what you remember from trekdrop: a stretchy liquorice with that familiar taste and texture. It’s back on the Dutch market thanks to Felko Nederland, who has brought this nostalgic sweet back to life.
How did it come back?
Strekdrop’s return didn’t happen overnight: almost two years went into the re-launch. Small test batches were made to fine-tune the flavour and texture, so it feels just like it used to. Because there was no longer a reference point (you couldn’t buy the old trekdrop anymore), it mainly came down to memory, feel, and hands-on testing.
What’s different — and what stays the same?
Flavour
- Just like before: recognisable and familiar, almost identical to the classic trekdrop.
- Possibly different: slight differences due to modern production and recipe optimisation.
Texture / stretchiness
- Just like before: soft and stretchy, just as you’re used to.
- Possibly different: it may be even stretchier now for extra “stretch”.
Packaging / brand
- Just like before: the look & feel brings back that nostalgic vibe.
- Possibly different: now under its own, recognisable name Strekdrop.
Why is this great news?
Memories & nostalgia: For many people, trekdrop brings back warm memories. This return is a little piece of sweet history you can enjoy again.
Demand was already there: Lots of people hoped trekdrop would come back one day — and now it’s here.
